I’ve got a delta. It’s as good as any 13”. I bought mine used at an auction pretty cheap

Good afternoon fellas. I’m looking to get a decent thickness planer for my shop now that I have my sawmill fully operational. I do have a big planer that came with the mill that I will use for chip planing, but I want something for my shop at home. I am thinking about a Dewalt, but I’m curious to hear what you guys are running.
Wondering if you ever bought a planer.

They are ok for occasional use. As noted by many sniping is a huge issue. I have a bit of experience with planers. Still have a few around yet.

I haven’t had any issues with sniping on mine yet, but I have only been planing ash.

I have had Rockwell wedge beds, Powermatics, countless Bellsaws, as well as the DeWalt. What are you using for a rough planer?
