The 3.0 reset doesnt put it back to factory settings... it tunes it to what the saw needs.... least thats what stihl says in all thier...

New bar/chain i usually set it with no visual droop in the chain, and snug to the point that i can (while tugging pretty hard) JUST...

Given what you are saying, you may need to give the saw a little fuel mix down the throat then... i had to do that when i tebuilt my 661...

Sounds like a failed mtronic solenoid, along with what looks like an overheat sieze from a dull chain.... mtronic noid will make it pop...
