    Black gnats

During the month of May they torture our horses. I have found that a product called SWAT repels them very effectively. It's messy (creamy), but it works. One application on the horses to the most frequently affected areas (base of the neck, ears, armpits, belly, & around the sheath on males)...

    Autotune vs M-Tronic??

Do you suspect that he may have pushed it really hard with a dull chain?!

    Autotune vs M-Tronic??

I have had a Husky 562XP & currently have a Stihl241C & Stihl 462C. No problems for me with either system. I also have Stihl 201, 200, & 261, all of which have standard carbs. I like the simplicity of the standard carbs, but, when you switch them from choke to fast idle while in the process of...

550 XP Mark II or MS 261

For some the inboard clutch on the Stihl is preferred to the out board on the Husky. FWIW, the new RS23Pro .325 chain outperforms the Picco PS (lo-pro 3/8) on my MS 241, so I would expect it would do the same on the 261. I see you have it already set up with 3/8 which should do very well with a...

    SOLD Simington 451c

Hmmm. I only live about 75 miles away in Lansing. It's very tempting, but, if David Wyby wants it I won't make a bid. He's a stand up guy & would really put it to good use.

Anybody know/heard of this builder in Sturgeon Bay, WI?

    Isn't Gunner's #1 346 from Ebels & ported by Randy?

Guys if you ran regular carb saws for years, what were your thoughts when finally got a m-tronic or autotune saw????

I have had a 562 Auto tune Husky & still have Stihl 462 & 241 which are M-tronic. I also have Stihl 261, 201, & 200 with standard carbs. I like them all, but I prefer the simplicity of the standard carbs. The only time I don't like the standard carb is when it it mated with a rev limited...

    Ms 201 m-tronic stalling issue

I have an early 201 (standard carb) which has been ported by Kevin. The only time it had any stalling issues was when it was stock. It is running on canned fuel ( VP 94 octane with Motul 710 @ 40:1) & is flawless!

Think the saws being released now will be the last ever???

Yup. I bought my 201 (rear handle) in 2012. It is now ported & is quite a performer!

1st Porting Attempt, an MS200T Clone

Nothing earth shattering, Dan. I'm going in for some injections & possibly laser ablation of some nerves in my ancient back. 47 years of practicing dentistry has taken it's toll.

Think the saws being released now will be the last ever???

MS 201 & 550XP are newer designs, not old. Battery saws are nowhere near as versatile as gasoline powered types!! Looking forward you are going to continue to see new developments in our old faithfuls.
