Having trouble with stihl 261c rebuild.

The 3.0 reset doesnt put it back to factory settings... it tunes it to what the saw needs.... least thats what stihl says in all thier training... and, my personal experience with mt3.0 is my 661, top end grenaded due to dull chain, add in pinched bar and torn intake boot, would not idle after...

This is a v3 saw, so.... whats your point? Also we determined a super dull chain was the cause of the failure... this particular saw wont start and idle currently with a fresh topend... that needs a reset.... assuming that the cylinder doesnt have any air leaks

New bar/chain i usually set it with no visual droop in the chain, and snug to the point that i can (while tugging pretty hard) JUST (like 1/16" max) pull the drive link out of the channel in the middle of the bar

Almost...everything is correct til your question, which is yes, hold the trigger full throttle after the 30 sec, the saw will act lije it is sitting on a rev limiter at about 10k, you will hear it vary a little bit, maybe 500 rpm one way or another, keep holding the throttle full til it revs up...

Got to run the 25" light neotec last night, after a full tank on a ported 044, it didnt stretch any more than stihl 33rs would have, and is still razor sharp despite rip cutting, cross cutting, and noodling dirty ash the whole time... cuts every bit as nice as 33rs, if not a touch more hungry on...

Given what you are saying, you may need to give the saw a little fuel mix down the throat then... i had to do that when i tebuilt my 661 m tronic, it had learned to the rapidly degrading piston and cylinder, and was so far off it wouldnt start... i use a little plqstic squeeze bottle to feed...

Sounds like a failed mtronic solenoid, along with what looks like an overheat sieze from a dull chain.... mtronic noid will make it pop but not run... Also check flywheel timing hasnt shifted.... All that assuming you did proper case vac/pressure test to verify crank seals and bottom end are...

Not suprising at all... probably a case of either the box got misplaced in a warehouse, or they didnt hqve stock when they thought they did...

Husqvarna 395 issues..............Husqvarna customer support is pathetic.

And i stand by mine... if you advertise a lifetime warranty, you are legally required to honor it, does not matter one bit how many "extra coils" a person has...
